Ngqushwa Municipality has 12 functional ward committee structures with 120 ward committee members. Ward Committee reports to Speaker and their reports find expression in the Speaker’s report to Council.

Ward Committee’s term of office is in-line with that of the Council. The purpose of the committees is to broaden participation in the democratic process of Council and to assist the Ward Councillor with organizing consultation, disseminating information and encouraging participation from residents in the ward.
